Cd Release Party
Last Friday we traveled to Birmingham to attend a Cd release party for my oldest daughter Sarah. It was a very exciting night for all of us. Sarah was a grand prize winner in the Alabama Talent Hunt and it earned her a spot on the cd titled "Alabama's Emerging Artists 2013". She chose the song "I Believe In Love" by Barlowgirl to record. It was the song that she performed for the 4th round of the Alabama Talent Hunt. She did an amazing job with this performance. It literally moved me to tears. Several of our family members and some people that we consider family attended the party to share this exciting night with us. We all waited anxiously to hear her song for the first time. Her song is the last one on the cd, so we had to wait a while. Mr. Barry Hendrix of Alabama Talent Company asked each one of the winners a few questions before he played their song. Sarah said that she made some great friends and learned better stage presence throughout the competition. She also said that she learned what God wanted her to do with her life and felt like she was on the right rack. I can't wait to see what the future holds for her. I am so excited to have been a part of this experience and I am so thankful for the opportunity that it has provided my daughter. She has been so lucky to have so many wonderful people to support her on this Journey. She has had the privilege to work with two very amazing voice teachers that have helped her grow so much. I am so thankful for the gift that God has given her and hope that she continues to glorify him with her talent. The cd titled "Alabama's Emerging Artists 2013" has some very talented singers on it and will go on sale on iTunes August 6th. You can buy the whole cd or each song individually. Cheer Camp
My daughter Lindsey made JV cheerleader this year, so she has been practicing all summer long for cheer camp. Well the time finally arrived to put all that hard work to use. She has been so excited about going. I hope she is having fun and making memories. I watched her perform before I left and all the girls did such a great job. I will go back to get her on Thursday and they will perform again. I would hate to know that I had to be a judge because all those girls did a great job. I never new how much work went in to being a cheerleader and I am so excited to watch my daughter cheer her team on this year. My girls are involved in many things and it keeps me quite busy, but I wouldn't change a thing. I love my girls....

Clarke County Idol and My Girls!!
I am a little late on this post, but I wanted to share. The town where I grew up hosted an Idol singing competition. My mom loves to hear my girls sing and so she signed them up for competition. They had a Hometown Celebration the day of the final round of the Clarke County idol. They started with a patriotic parade and they had water slides and a dunking booth for the children. They also had a hot dog and ice cream eating contest. Then came the final round of the Idol. I love to hear my girls sing, but I always get nervous when they are competing. My oldest Sarah won 1st place in her age group and one of my twins Olivia won 2nd place in her age group. I was so proud of my girls. 1st place for Sarah was $300.00 and she was so excited. She is working on writing her own original songs and making a cd, so $300.00 was a wonderful start towards raising the money she needs. After the winners were announced they ended with a fireworks show and it was beautiful. A great ending to a great day. Enjoyed spending time with my family. This is just a little glimpse of living in a small town

Barbecue Chicken and a Crockpot
I found a recipe on pinterest for barbecue chicken and have been wanting to cook it for my family. I decided yesterday that I needed to cook something for dinner and I wanted it to be simple, so I tried the barbecue chicken in the crock pot and it was really good. It was so easy and it only calls for 3 ingredients.
1. Boneless chicken breast
2. Pineapple chunks
3. Barbecue sauce
The recipe called for Hawaiian Style Barbecue Sauce, but I just used some Honey Barbecue Sauce by Sweet Baby Ray's. I cooked them on high in the crock pot for about 3 hours. Just put the chicken breast in first, then pour the barbecue sauce over the chicken. I then drained the pineapple chunks and poured them in the crock pot. I shredded it in the crock pot after it was cooked. I served it over some rice and cooked some garlic bread and we had a meal. The recipe said that you could throw in a chopped green pepper and chopped onion(may try this next time).

Alabama Talent Hunt and my daughter Sarah!!
Last week my daughter Sarah and I went to Birmingham for her to record with Alabama Talent Company. She entered a singing competition called the Alabama talent hunt back in December of last year and won. She received a developmental contract and a recording contract for a song along with the other 9 grand prize winners. Each one of the winners will have one song on the cd and it will be called Alabama's Emerging Artist 2013. She has been singing Christian music since she was about 10 years old. She is 15 years old now and she will tell you that she wants to sing to glorify God. She has decided to pursue this as her career. She entered this competition a year ago and made it all the way to the 4th round. I am so proud that she didn't give up and kept trying until she won. We spent the night in Birmingham and had a girls shopping day. I have four girls and it is not always easy to spend quality time with them alone so I try to take advantage of every opportunity that I have. We had a great time together and was not really ready to come home. It is always nice to get away for a day or so. I have some of her videos on my facebook page and she has started her a music page on facebook called Sarah Tyson Music.
